Skin Boosters, like Skinvive, are a non-invasive cosmetic treatment designed to hydrate and rejuvenate the skin from within. Skinvive is an FDA and Health Canada-approved hyaluronic acid (HA) microdroplet injectable designed specifically to improve skin smoothness and hydration.
Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance in our bodies that attracts and retains moisture. As we age, our natural HA levels deplete, leading to fine lines, rough texture, and a loss of radiance. During a Skinvive treatment, tiny micro-injections of HA are placed just beneath the skin’s surface. These microdroplets act as microscopic water reservoirs, drawing in moisture to deeply hydrate the skin, improve elasticity, and smooth out fine textural lines.

Your Skinvive treatment at our Vancouver clinic is quick and comfortable. After a personalized consultation, a topical numbing cream is applied to ensure your comfort. The Skinvive gel itself also contains lidocaine (a local anesthetic) to make the micro-injections nearly painless. The procedure takes approximately 15 to 30 minutes.
Because the injections are very superficial, you will leave the clinic with tiny, raised bumps (resembling mosquito bites) across the treated area. These micro-blebs are completely normal and typically subside within 12 to 24 hours as the hyaluronic acid disperses and integrates into your skin. You may also experience mild redness or pinpoint bruising, which resolves quickly.
The results of Skin Boosters like Skinvive are visible within a few days as the hyaluronic acid begins to hydrate the skin, smooth the texture, and improve fine lines. While you will notice an immediate boost in hydration, the true "glow" and improvements in skin smoothness typically become most apparent 2 to 4 weeks after your treatment as the hyaluronic acid fully integrates and binds with water in your skin.
Clinical studies show that the hydrating and smoothing effects of Skinvive can last for 6 to 9 months following a single treatment. To maintain your radiant complexion, we recommend scheduling maintenance treatments once or twice a year.
Downtime is minimal. You will have small, raised bumps at the injection sites immediately following the procedure, but these usually flatten out within 12 to 24 hours. Mild redness and occasional pinpoint bruising can occur but are easily concealed with makeup the following day. We advise avoiding strenuous exercise, excessive heat, and alcohol for the first 24 hours.
